Wayward Brewing Company Annandale
Tucked off the main Parramatta Road stretch away from the public eye is Wayward Brewing Company. Hidden in Gehrig lane is this somewhat cavernous beer hall/brewery that seems to continue inwards indefinitely; what with the curious wall punctured to make way for more intimate booth like seating. You enter via a series of portals. The first leads to the main warren like hall, then off that, up to the brightly lit brewery (tours are on offer) and off to the side down an intimately lit hallway with seating.
Portal 3 and 4 just beyond that leads into Wayward’s warren like rooms. The look of the fourth entry way is curious, a hole cut into the wall, lined in black paint. There’s plenty of seating in this brewery and places you can slide away into.
Inside, Wayward is very much an innerwest hipster drinking hole, there’s a large bar with numerous taps and plenty of beers on offer and the look is a blend of retro and hispter cool. On tap, Wayward has 12 craft beers. Also here, tours ($30), Pizzas, Merch and Growlers. Today, there’s 6 craft beers from Waywards and 6 guest brews on tap including a Hills cloudy apple cider.
While checking out waywards, our friends from Dave’s brewery tours bring in their guests on their brewery tour.
Wayward’s casual easy vibe extends to families and your canine friend – both children and dogs are welcome here.
Wayward’s beer paddle and snack of choice. Popcorn.
Wayward Brewing is at once familiar having the vibes of a neighbourhood local. Outside this afternoon was a food truck selling various eats so its lunch and beers.
