Tiny Giant Petersham[Invite] The old Grumpy Barista in Petersham is now The Tiny Giant and for the most parts, the cafe feels mostly unchanged – the injectable cronuts that brought them to Sydney’s collective attention is still here. But with a change comes new menu items and what’s here is an appealing looking eats menu that made for some mighty fine brunching. Yes, the street where it sits is sleepy but the morning we checked in, they were busy with a good buzz in the air.
Coffees, Savoury and Sweet Breakfast options on the Tiny Giant menu.
A lovely poached egg, hollandaise, smoked trout dish. Really enjoyable; perfect poached eggs, good bits of smoked trout, tasty hollandaise. Pretty much bang on this.
Avo and Toast. It’s the plating that makes it and elevates what’s a pretty atypical dish from pedestrian to brunch goodness. Good sized serve and plenty to get through.
The MVP on TTG’s menu: Their french brioche, berries, figs and Persian floss is a crowning bit of instagram loveliness. It’s pretty but also a dang delicious bite. It’s a hard to resist one if you’ve got a sweet tooth.
TGG’s range of pimped cronuts. In this age of freakshakes and other bits of nonsensical instagram monster foods, looking at them now; they’re almost pared back in their simplicity. That injectable cronut though.
Tiny Giant really is pretty good. Good coffees, high quality cafe eats and a spot’s got great kerb appeal. Would we go back? Yes.
