Cruise Bar at the Passenger Terminal is back and its currently open across both floors with the top storey a Tanqueray Botanical Pop up Cocktail Launch. It’s here til the end of Vivid so if you’re keen to lounge back in the comfy surrounds, You’ll need to hustle in before the upstairs shuts and that elevated vantage disappears after Vivid. Interestingly, the brief for the popup lounge is an asian styled lounge with a bit of an Asian inspired cocktail menu borrowing on Hong Kong’s light show aesthetics.
Various shots across the upper deck. #TonightWeTanqueray. We note the Asian umbrellas, lanterns which all add a certain chinoserie glam to the venue.
Our first round of cocktails are being made.
You’ll note the chinese takeaway styled menu. (L)Kung Pao Sipper. A spicy chilli salt rim gives this one a bite (R) LIVID FOR a MARTINI.
(L) karaoke lights (R) sour’s a plum drink. We’re sitting in a premium spot up top to the left and the view of the opera house is stellar.
Eats. Interestingly, they dished up cheese and the crackers came in one of them typical chinese noodle/takeaway box; but that cheese plate is definitely very continental and sophisticated. Great selection of cheese too. Also here, deep fried chicken wings with a spicy mayo, hot chips.
The Cruise Bar Tanqueray pop-up lounge is only open from Saturday May 23rd – Monday June 8th. No doubt, designed to capture a crowd with the best sights of the Sydney Opera House’s vivid 2015 light show.
