The Cottage Bar & Kitchen launches their new summer menu and we head into Balmain courtesy of Pendulum. Located behind this bit of gated green is the cottage. It’s a victorianesque house that has been reworked to become this restaurant/bar. If you’re headed down this part of balmain, you’ll see lots of shops and then a bit of a break and then the cottage. Hard to miss really. Looking out from the front patio. Balmain in the background. Its very pretty. Front porch area and resident indie rock band Bad Pony. The inside is country pubby and is intimately lit. an eclectic selection of mirrors, frames and lampshade grandma’s chaise on the farm – Love a nice wingback. Great for a group this area. The fairground dessert plate is pretty amazing to look at and will make you go wow. Outdoor dining and drinking. Dusk. The Cottage Bar & Kitchen is a great looking and wholely appealing venue that does great food. Chef Ellen Young’s new menu is a nice mix of light summer eats, finger foods and more susbtantial eats. They also have a nice woodfired pizza oven in the cottage, and we can’t wait to head back and get some pizzas here. For something a little different and a bit homey, head over to balmain (surprisingly easy to get to from the city) and check this out. http://thecottagebalmain.com.au/ 2 Responses Gaby November 15, 2013 Mmm… nothing better than scallops and prosciutto… except maybe scallops and bacon :) Reply TheJugernaut November 15, 2013 scallop and some sort of porcine product. tick!
