Spawn Point Small Bar is Sydney’s first Gaming Small Bar (capacity 60) and we wandered in after checking into The Swinging Cat. Spawn Point is a gamer centric small bar; with videogames and videogame paraphernalia on display and the name – Spawn Point would be familiar to any Gamer being the spot in which a Player revives once downed in any modern day video game. From Wiki “Spawn points are areas in a level where players spawn”. Its located in the basement at 199 Clarence Street and has very much the look and feel of a gamers lounge with heaps of videogames to play and PC-esque LED lights.
Japanese and Australia N64 carts are here
We used to play Super Mario 2 – the nostalgia tingles! These SNES carts! <3

Smash Brothers on the wiiU
How’s your guitarhero skills?
Referencing another videogame term “F2P”, SpawnPoint isn’t quite Free to play but it seems like they weren’t strict about these policies regarding punters wandering into the bar – We did enquire. The venue has red as touchpoint with stools being red as were the tolix type stools and the pipes. Spawn Point appeals to the gaming crowd that wants to come out to a small bar, play some videogames in a social setting with friends while imbibing cocktails or drinks. It’s a different sort of small bar to what we’ve been seeing or what you’d be used to. From Mario to Guitar Hero, Smash brothers and old school video game cabinets with Metal Slug on it, there’s plenty here. They also run competition game nights here. Insert credit and make your way down to Spawn Point.
