Since I Left You x Fintan Magee
Celebrating its Fourth Year, Sydney’s Since I left You small bar is ever evolving. They landed a major street art coup with one of Australia’s most in-demand street artists, Fintan Magee, painting a five-storey portrait. The mural, a 18 metres tall piece entitled ‘The Torch Carrier’ will loom over the outdoor courtyard here and is an amazing piece that adds heaps of character and oomph to the space. We pop in to check out the mural and their new cocktails at their launch event.
’The Torch Carrier’ (see video below) – statement about environmental destruction and is a continuation of Magee’s recent body of work that touches upon his personal experience of the Brisbane flood along with other broader issues of climate change.
“The artwork represents man’s role in climate change and specifically symbolises the link between global warming and the increased frequency of bushfires in Australia,” Fintan
THE TORCH CARRIER $18 Aged Pisco, Apricot Brandy & Agave Syrup shaken and topped with a dash of Bitters – This cocktail on their new menu pay homage to the mural done by Fintan with burning eucalyptus adding that distinctively Australian scent to the venue. Sip this while looking up at the new Mural. There’s a conversation here that feels a bit special.
