So yerp, Pub Life Kitchen’s finally gone and done it having just officially kicked off Pub Life Kitchen Rozelle in the space formerly housed by Ruby L’otel. Opening today (April 26th), the new PLK is a large roomy affair with ample daylighting from the greenhouse like glazed space. Its refreshing large, with a play area down the back for kids called “Pub Life Kids”; everything that punters are familiar with at Ultimo are here with that family friendly sheen. Fresh off successful stints at Deus and burgerpalooza, Jovan Curic has kicked off round 2.
Pub Life Kitchen of course is more than just burgers. Their menu showcases a range of classic pub grub and these eats hugely outnumber the burgers (there’s only 3 on the menu). Their menu which we’ll return for consists of:
Snacks: wings, pork croquettes, duck liver parfait, calamari: mac and cheese
Sides, fries, mash gravy, salad, brussel sprouts, minted green peas, corn on the cob, smashed potatoes
Mains: smoked fish chowder, pie of the day, braised beef cheeks, crispy barramundi, porchetta pork chop, pumpkin tortellini, steaks x 2, chicken schnitzel and beer battered barramundi
Not just a burger joint. PLK Rozelle will feature a rotating special schedule: Highlights include Half Price Mains on Mondays, Cheap Steak Tuesdays, Kids Eat Free Wed, Chicken Dinners with whole charcoal chickens and unlimited $4 sides Thursdays, “Burger Experiment” a staple of PLK ultimo will be held here on Fridays, Pub Brunch on Saturdays, and “ParkMeats” another PLK ultimo signature with whole animals roasted on spits Sundays. Diners are welcomed to pull up in the adjoining park and have a picnic.
