Night Noodle Market Returns in 2015 – Good Food’s annual outdoor asian food fest returns. There’s plenty to check out with hundreds of food stalls in Hyde Park from Messina, Din Tai Fung, Black Star Pastry (their first appearance at the NNM), N2 Gelato, Mamak, Devon, Hoy Pinoy and more. We spent some time last night wandering around the venue.
The singleton x Momofuku Sugar and Whisky pop up bar is helmed by Christina Tosi and Sean Baxter. In the popup bar area, you can indulge in cocktails crafted using #TheSingleton – an easy drinking whisky that paired with the cookie made for a delicious treat. Here: their tasting platter ($25) is a combo meal of deliciousness. (L)🍓🍉🍰 The famous Strawberry watermelon cake from BSP (R) Brokeback moment N2 gelato. In the middle is the impressive Teafogato which is a collab dessert between the 2 vendors. It’s a strawberry watermelon smash w n2 gelato with Tippitytea rooibos tea soda and freeze dried cherries. And yes the bowl billows from the dry ice. One of the most popular stalls here with a permanent queue.
Somewhat hidden in plain sight; in a bit of a “cameo” role – blink and you’ve missed it. Andy Bowdy was at the Night Noodle Markets last night dishing up an incredible soft serve treat. Andy’s here giving out “happy endings” for $10. Pandan softserve, coconut rice custard, mango, coconut milk jam, toasted rice. Very tasty and had a flavour we thought was somewhat reminiscent of Kaya.
The Good Food Month Night Noodle Markets will run for 3 weeks. Plenty of time to head back in and pig out. This weekend though? Our pick is the Newtown Good Food Fest.
