Mister Gee Burger Truck easily does some of the best burgers you’ll eat in Sydney town (alongside the fantastic Pub Life Kitchen) and we finally find time to visit. They do burgers, and they’re crazy popular and the hype is real; these burgers are worth the schelp out to Burwood. They had 3 things on their menu – today it was a cheese boogie, a baklava shake and truffled fries. That’s it. It’s this concise vision and singular product of the week that allows them to focus on the 1 menu item and nail it to perfection
A couple of pics of the queue that swelled as we waited. We got there first at around 5.40 as we’d heard that the queues swell and it was quite amusing to see the people trickling (and then flooding in) as it neared six. Pic was taken at start of service and you can see that it’s slammed with families, couples, groups. Another reason why you’d want to get there early is the very limited seating.
A duo of burgers – we had the Cheese Boogie with single Patty and double. Despite looking like it’d be a terrible bun, the large looking bun is pillowy soft and held up well. Burgers were both juicy, drippy with an abundance of cheese; this is the cheese boogie after all. Patties were medium, packed full of flavour. Burger Game on point. Delectable. (Pickle Rating – for our buddies at FBAS; 4.2/5 pickles for the single patty 4.5/5 pickles for the double)
Truffle Fries and their Baklava shake. With a generous lashing of truffled mayo, the truffle fries were nice and a reasonable sized portion for $5. Baklava shake was incredible with a “we never quite had something like this before” taste – and this from someone who generally dislikes baklava as they’re way too sweet. You’ll need to order the shake.
A sample of the sauces that Mister Gee has on hand. We smiled when we saw the Blair’s as we bought a huge batch of their sauces a bit back.
Mister Gee Burger Truck was a fantastic eat and we’re already thinking about our next visit. Queues can get manic as the very deserved hype ensures a constant queue. Get in early, smash some burgers and enjoy their juicy, winning tastiness. And all this outta a food truck too with great prices to boot. We’re in love. Run not walk to Mister Gee.
