From street side with the vintage cars adding to the classic throw back diner feel with the colourful, pop kitschy table cloth and american flag buntings – the team at Miss America’s Diner have done plenty to liven up the venue – Tonight, jack o lanterns sit on the counter, cobwebs and other halloweeny elements make up the space.  Miss America’s Diner sure is a popular “popup” with the locals; there was a steady stream of customers all evening.

A Nevada Get Me Wong (2 beef patties, cheddar (3 slices), bacon, lettuce, tomato with a house made nevada sauce, raw onions and pickles) Burger $14 thus named after a customer, A James Dean-Be a Rebel (Two Beef Patties seperated by cheddar, bacon, lettuce and tomato) $12 and their Heart Attack Fries (Skinny fries, crispy bacon, melted cheese and shallots) $12.

We can only imagine what the more standard burgers are like here but both the burgers we ordered here were on the side of huge, really super cheesey and saucey with plenty of flavours in the burgers. The Nevada was a load juicier, with medium beef and yes, that raw onion gives it that “kiss me after a mint” taste sensation. James Dean is a more classic burger with nice crispy bacon. Both juicy and delicious. Heartattack fries arrives drenched in cheese and bacon and the throwaway bit of shallots and its a beast of a dish in itself. Oodles of flavour. With those ingredient combinations, you really can’t go wrong.

From the wholely efficient and pleasingly friendly service, Miss America’s Diner is a bit of a winner here in Riverwood – It’s approachable and the burgers were pretty banging. We sort of wish we visited their dawgs. Hankering for burgers and americana? Miss America’s Diner won’t do you wong.
