Endeavour Tap Rooms The Rocks

[Friends and Family Launch] Located down at the Rocks is Sydney’s latest urban brewery; Endeavour Tap House. Housed in the old wine shop down at 43 Argyle Street, the new Tap Rooms from Applejack Hospitality  and Endeavour Vintage Beer Company adds to the myriad food and beverage scene in the area. Endeavour Tap Rooms Brings to the Rocks, a high quality brewery and a menu that features smoked meats and a great bar eats selection. Those familiar with the Applejack venues (Socal, Bondi Hardware, Della Hyde, The Botanist, The Butler) will find Endeavour’s sharp as tack fitout and design of the old space to be both familiar and similarly striking.

The Endeavour Tap Rooms space is characteristically of the period; a Victorian-esque space but now given a new slick look with luxe fixtures and lush Australian Natives adorning the spaces. Other areas are defined by its oversized suspended lamps – a visual motif of arches that is also present in the main bar.

Large suspended lamps that look somewhat peculiar in the daytime reveal their intent and creates intimate islands of light as the sun sets

Here at the Endeavour Tap Rooms, Applejack has brought Socal’s barbecue (here, its a smoked meats selection). There’s a good array of bar eats featuring crispy spot prawns, oysters, barbecue, chicken wings and more. On tap, Endeavour beers and there’s a plentiful selection with 8 different beers on tap that showcase the different flavour profiles from a light summer ale to deeper richer bitter IPAs and hopped up Amber Ales.

Endeavour Tap Rooms The Rocks Cocktails

Bottled Cocktails $18 each rounds up the Tap Room cocktail selection. There’s a lightly delicious negroni on tap, espresso martinis using mr black spirits and also a variety of seasonal cocktails.

Crispy Hawkesbury River school prawns with buffalo sauce $15

Hiramasa Kingfish tostadas corn & guacamole $16

Pacific oysters parsley, verjuice & eschallot $4 ea

Chicken Thyme Sangers, 350gm Smoked Steak. (price by weight)

We rather liked the mini spot prawns that we had here. Perfectly crispy, with a squeeze of lime and tangy tasty chilli mayo made them a treat and a good compliment for a new cold beverage. The pacific oysters with parsley verjuice and eschallots were light and easy eating. Those keen on a more substantial meal can have a look at Endeavour’s house smoked meats selection. From satisfying plump smoked sausages, there’s also brisket, ribs and more.

Well located, Endeavour is great for afternoon and after work drinks. We expect the Tap Rooms to do well with the tourist trade that makes up the Rocks. That said, price guide across their menu is priced competitively considering its location  and that “tourist tax” pricing isn’t here. Lovely spot for a drink.
