So Chur Burger‘s pop up at the London’s come to an end and what’s taken over is now the Burger Liquor Lobster diner. So what can you expect at the reworked venue? Well, Burgers. Liquor. Lobster. This is also available at Manly Wharf Hotel where the other chur popup was.
Sweet Potato Fries (exactly like chur – they’ve obviously kept the crockery too) and a pretty generous Lobster Cob Salad at $15. The salad had chunks of salt pepper lobster, eggs, tomato, bacon and cos. Really enjoyed it – the salad was sauced just right, not overtly salty and again, a great serve at $15.
$15 Burger: Softshell crab in their (lettuce bun option) – all dishes here could be eaten with the bun subbed with lettuce. Not the best pic of the crab but this was suprisingly good. Very crunchy and the slaw inside was good as was the crunchy softshell crab. We were skeptical about the lettuce but it works. Carb conscious diners will love this.
Star of the show: The Lobster roll. Salt and Pepper Lobster, Aioli, tomato, chives, red onion. Not quite what we expected but a crunchy delightful popcorn lobster filled roll that ate really well with a nice bun and heaps of lobster chunks in it. crunchy, substantial.
So yeah, BLL is pretty good and a nice fit upstairs at the London. There’s kind of nothing like it around for a bit in the area – House of Crab comes to mind but that’s quite different. The food was delicious, you’d go for the “lobster experience” and get your fill of salt and pepper popcorn bites – as they do feature in all the lobster dishes. Easy, yummy lunch and dinner options. We dig it. Note: BLL is also available at Manly Wharf Hotel.
