BangBang Cafe Surry Hills[Invite] Surry Hill’s latest Burger joint is a real up and comer, taking roots in the spot of existing BangBang Cafe on 113 Reservoir Street. Now run by new owner Matthew Maddrel and his head chef Daff (who’s all tattooed up and reminded us of an English @jimmysburgers) – these young guns are coming to the Sydney burger scene with some quality burgers that rival some of the best we’ve had in Sydney. We got invited to come taste test their burgers – and you’ll definitely see us back here in the future. Dem some good eating burgers. Their hallmark beef burgers are winners with a combination of tasty medium beef, with that soft signature *redacted* milk bun from Sydney’s most famous burger bun producers. A surprise then that their sloppy joe hotly contested their normal burgers as our fave this visit. Them some satisfying juicy as sloppiness going on – with us happily mopping up the beef mince with our buns as it all gloriously fell apart in technocolour gloriness.
Bangbang as seen from the streetside and a look around the cafe. Its an appealing tucked away cafe up the reservoir street hill.
BangBang Burgers and a look at their brekkie menu. There’s salads if you’re into salads….
It’s not all burger decadence here: Bangbang also offers a robust breakfast selection, coffees and juices. The veggie breakfast is a pretty solid serve with perfect poached eggs, avocado, haloumi.
Double Banger $17 (rounded up)
Sloppy Joe $14 (rounded up)
Chicken Burger $14 (rounded up)
The burgers from bang bang were all delightful – Their double banger, a compact double patty burger packed with awesome beefy goodness with a nice tangy bang bang sauce. Chicken Burger came with slaw coated in a cooling slaw. We quite liked the fact that all these burgers came with fries which makes them pretty good value.
We resisted all puns/phrases to do with the word “Bang”. Go get some great tasty burgs.
