We thought Arisun Express was a wholely takeaway shop (that name) so imagine our surprise when this invited lunch took place upstairs in their 60 seater dining space tucked away up the stairs round the back. Downstairs on the street side of Liverpool is where both Arisun and Azoto are located and these two do very different things. One’s a nitrogen freeze gelato joint, the other a Korean Fried Chicken/dumpling/Korean dish joint. One spot, 2 types of eats in a shop. That’s gotta be a first?
These dumpling aren’t your atypical ones – they’filled with a pork and chive dumplings and the noodles are a starchy potato noodle (Korean) with the textural quality of rubber band in its elasticity. Quite interesting if you haven’t had these.
A trio of Fried Eats from their menu. There’s Korean Fried Chicken done with cinnamon+paprika (the uncoated chicken), the spicy sweet version and pork/beef and seafood balls. We quite enjoyed the balls as they were really rather moist and tender. KFC was crunchy and good. You can get them to go in one of them takeaway cups and its a good portion too.
