Dank Street Depot

Dank  Street Depot is located at 1/1/2 Danks Street  Waterloo and adjoins a development (W5) that the jugernaut worked on professionally ages ago. :) Dank Street is most renowned for their eggs, and I’d been here prior for lunch and really enjoyed them. There can be slight sticker shock; eggs + toast and its how much?! So keep that in mind.

This visit, was a drop in, brunch visit and we came after mate did the rounds looking at apartments.

Warehousey/Lofty space with big apertures permitting a lot of light

Screen hides the kitchen and cooking hijinks from the patrons. Island Benchs and paired seats available.

Eggs | Crew in action

Hand Cut chips. $7. Clearly made from real potatoes. Very good.

We both ended up ordering the salmon belly dish (about $20 each) – how often do you get to pick Salmon Belly?  What’s on the plate are 2 perfectly poached eggs, excellent potato hash and perfectly cooked salmon belly with crispy skin. There’s also hollandaise sauce at the side.

Cleaned up both plates and that bowl of potato at the end of the meal. All up, very good brunch, good coffee, table water (+1), and the food looked beautiful on the plate and tasted great.
DSD’s servers were attentive, friendly and made the dining experience a pleasure. I’m making this observation as US’s review seems to have a fair few “rude server’ comments.
