WINE AND DINING MY WAY AROUND THIS PLANET

ABOUT

The Jug-er-Nauts; is named thus: we drink. Hence the “Jugs”. Eating and Drinking positively shape our experiences; how we experience a suburb; the taste and sensations of the city.

I read some food blogs; occasionally when I want to go somewhere new. I don’t particularly care too much about price breakdowns etc even though it matters; what I care about is

  • is it fun
  • it the food good
  • is the service good
  • could I be bothered going again?
  • and I love to look at red hot photos.

This is that kind of a food blog.  Unless there’s a need to write something pertinent, the photos and a short enough writeup will do the job.

I come from an architectural background, have an active interest in the arts; photography and food. Watch way too much Top Chef; every season.. love anthony bourdain and the layover. Own way too many cookbooks.

This blog is starting probably 2 years too late; but better late than never; been taking photos of food way back; have a joke fetish account for masterchef (now in hiatus til next season). Now THEJUGERNAUTS site is going to be a repository of all these interests; and a base upon which I can fuel my passion in food. I’m not going on MASTERCHEF to talk about my food journey.

I live in Newtown. Which I think is an amazing suburb. I like sydney InnerWest; and I like parts of melbourne that have that decrepit beauty about it – fitzroy/brunswick. I like the things have traditions and values and I respect food and produce.

Lets go drink and eat some. and drink some more. :)
